I figured the way to work things out was to really take the Catholic Lent thing to heart. I decided that i would give up society for Lent 2000. I would retrofit my 1998 Volkswagon Beetle, sell my shares in the business, move to Vermont and drive the open road for 40 days and 40 nights.
